Welcome....

Celebrate with cake is abit of a hobby of mine and all started by accident when family and friends started asking me to make cakes for them. I LOVE baking and I have been making cakes with my mum and my grandma since I was knee high so seems second nature to me. Before having my 2 beautiful girls I was an art student and have always had an eye for design. I think this is why I love decorating and designing cakes so much!!

I am relatively new to sugarcraft but am trying new projects everyday and love it! I thought this blog would be a great idea to log my progress and store some pictures of the things I make.

COUTURE wedding cake!

For a friend of a friend I was asked if I could do a 4 tier wedding cake for her wedding beginning of october. I made some samples of my cake up for her to try and she was more than happy to go ahead and get me to do her wedding cake for her. I was extremely nervous! I hadn't ever done something so big and of such importance before! The couple decided on 2 tiers lemon sponge with lemon buttercream and 2 tiers chocolate sponge with chocolate buttercream. The picture I was given to work from was actually from a book called couture cakes by mich turner. Mich is truly inspiring and founder of the little venice cake company.

I felt like I had ALOT to live up to and with me only just starting out with making and decorating cakes I didn't feel worthy to be re-creating a cake designed by someone so so talented! The cake even though is quite simple in design took hours to complete and I was so so so nervous about doing the cake justice.
